CPA 2004 is to be held at Oxford Brookes University (Headington) from the evening of Sunday 5th September to mid-day Wednesday the 8th.

DEM06 Lecture Theatre

DEM06 is a modern 96-seat theatre with AV equipment, located at the the Headington (Gypsy Lane) campus. All sessions will take place therein.

AV equipment includes two OHPs and two LCD projectors, one of each mounted either side of desk and magiboard.

Clive Booth Hall

Accommodation is available in Clive Booth Hall of Residence. Completed only last year, it offers modern rooms within a pleasant ~10min walk of the conference theatre. All rooms offered are en suite. A limited number of double rooms are available.

Headington Hill Hall

Sunday evening registration and meal will be in HHH which overlooks the gleaming towers and was once the operating base of the publishing tycoon Robert Maxwell.

Getting there

Rail and bus

Arrive at Oxford Station by rail. Exit station site and cross one main road onto island in St Frideswide Square. Board BrookesBus Service U1 and get off at London Road by Pullens Lane (just at the top of a steep hill). Headington Hill Hall main entrance is about 50 yards back, just the other side of Pullens Lane. Clive Booth Hall can reached by a footpath to the right and downhill onto John Garne Way.

Car

See Road_Map.pdf below. Heading west on M40, turn off at Junction 8 onto the A40(M). Cross over (second exit) major roundabout and traffic lights in Headington (many shops). Proceed past Gypsy Lane (main campus) and HHH entrance to bottom of hill. Turn right onto the Marston Road. After about a hundred yards turn right into John Garne Way. If the barrier is up you can park in Clive Booth Hall car-park. Otherwise, proceed a little further and park in Morell Hall car-park. To reach HHH, walk to the top of the lane and follow footpath, turning left and then right through gateway. Turn right and proceed downhill.

Finding the theatre (DEM06) from Headington Hill or Clive Booth Hall

Proceed to the top of John Garne Way from Clive Booth Hall, following the footpath up the hill at the end of the road. Turn left and follow the footpath to Pullens Lane and then turn right. If coming from Headington Hill Hall, walk to the top of the hill and out the main entrance. Cross over the London Road (carefully) and walk a little way to the left. A temporary entrance is signed to the Gypsy Lane campus. Proceed past the building site and enter the first building on your left. Go to the end of the corridor and turn left. The rooms are well signed.
