Who Are We?WoTUG is a forum set up to support those applying the CSP model of parallel processing. WoTUG applies its skills to areas such as Java threads and high level language hardware compilation. WoTUG has established a body of work on the subject of distributed, high-efficiency parallel computing, much of which has been presented in the proceedings of the conferences (available from IOS Press). The design of the Inmos Transputer and the parallel programming language occam helped this work enormously, but we have in recent years been applying that knowledge elsewhere to good advantage, with the development of various compilers and tools. What do we Do?The forum has an email mailing list which members can use to communicate with the other members of the group. The forum has organised a yearly conference for many years, usually held at a UK University, to which all are invited. MembershipMembership of the forum is informal. For the purposes of the constitution the membership to be the delegates and programme committee involved in the previous 36 months (3 years). However, although we would love to see you at a conference, you can join in the debate by joining the mailing list. The CommitteeThe WoTUG Committee is a group of people who, in the main, organise the yearly conference. There is a committee-only mailing list, to which committee members are automatically added, which is used by the committee to achieve this. Part of this work includes arranging the programme committee for papers which are submitted to the conference. The ConstitutionThe forum chose not to be a charity but has a formal Constitution. This constitution was agreed at the Twente meeting of the group 2003. The group has a bank account, which is audited. Minutes of the more recent AGMs are available. |
