Abstract
Three compilers for HPF that target the IBM Scalable POWERparallel
System (SP) and networked clusters of IBM RISC System/6000
workstations are reviewed and contrasted: Applied Parallel Research,
Inc., xHPF, Version 2.1(11); Portland Group, Inc., pghpf, Version 2.1;
IBM, XL HPF, Version 1.1.0.0. Their language-handling characteristics
and attributes such as integration with other tools is
summarized. The general architecture of each compiler is described.
Particular attention is paid to details of code generated by each
compiler from small example HPF source codes.
