Concert
- Abstract
- The goal of the Concert project is to develop portable,
efficient implementations of concurrent object-oriented
languages. The approach incorporates program analysis,
information management, and optimization at every stage
from the compiler to the runtime system. The Concert
system consists of a high performance compiler and
runtime (implementations) as well as a set of programming
tools (emulator, debugger, and performance tuning).
Languages supported by Concert system are Concurrent
Aggregates and Illinois Concert C++. The implementation
enables both production use and experimentation with
concurrent object-oriented programming techniques.

- TargetEnvironment
- In order to make Concert work on your system, you
must have the following:
Sparcstation 4,5,10, or 20 with 32+ MB of memory;
The system must run SunOS 4.x;
GNU's g++ compiler version 2.7.2;
GNU's gmake, a make program is used to build Concert executables, so you cannot compile
programs without it. Any version of gmake should work fine.
GNU Emacs version 18 or 19. Emacs is required to run the Concert Debugger and the
Emacs interface to the Concert Compiler and Emulator.
