Nupshot

Abstract

Nupshot is a performance visualization tools that displays performance data trace files in a log format (MPICH MPE logging) or PICL format. Nupshot has two views -- a Timeline view that shows process states and message passing and a Mountain Ranges view that shows histograms of statistics for the various MPI calls.

MPE logging and nupshot are part of the MPICH distribution and come with their own configure scripts to set them up. Nupshot needs to have the TCL 7.3 and TK 3.6 libraries to compile it succesfully. MPE logging also works with some vendor MPIs, such as IBM MPIF and SGI MPI.
