The procedures in the library   reinit   which allow link
communications to be terminated if communication does not succeed are
wrongly coded. They will behave satisfactorily if the timeout or abort
channel message does not occur before the attempt to start
communication on the link. As long as the timeout is set at a
reasonable time into the future allowing for any processes in parallel
to have a time-slice there will be no problem. Difficulties are only
likely at high priority, when it may be desirable to substitute mended
copies of these procedures.
