Using uncompacted libraries from
another directory can lead to very obscure errors. The names of nested
filed folds are interpreted as if they applied to the directory in which
the library is being used, rather than the directory containing the source.
If the current directory happens to include files with these names, they
can be picked up instead of the library files, with unpredictable effects.
