If the server has to wait a long time for an expected input from the
transputer, which has been delayed by the intervention of a high priority
process or otherwise, it may fail with a spurious message such as
"Illegal command received on kernel channel". If it is necessary to
perform server operations (e.g. screen output) from code running in
high priority, a delay should be coded to ensure that the output all gets
to the server before high priority copmputation proceeds.
