This is to announce that some of Dr Eugenio Zabala's research papers are 
available through anonymous ftp from shiraz.ohm.york.ac.uk directory ez
These papers were published during his PhD at the Department of Electronics
of the University of York (England).

Dr Zabala considers that human perception evidence should be the foundation of 
data presentation models and tools if they are to be effective and efficient
at processing large amounts of multivariate interrelated data. To demonstrate
the validity of this thesis he developed PowerTools, a set of tools to assist
on tuning (both debugging and performance enhacement) Parallel Computing 
applications. PowerTools is currently composed of two visualisation tools 
(Maritxu and The Cave) that exploit pre-attentive and attentive vision, a 
sonification tool (SRT) that utilizes Sound to convey dynamic data, and the 
Common Tool Control (CTC) that provides centralised control and synchronization
over the tools. The tools have demonstrated successful on a wide range of 
parallel systems. The data presentation principles and tools could be applied 
to a wide range of areas that require the processing of large amounts of data.
