Does anyone know of a readily available component, equivalent in function
to the CO12, giving similar (or better) performance?

I know there has been some discussion in the past on this newsgroup
regarding implementing this function in programmable logic, however I don't
really have time to contemplate this. Unless anyone knows where a suitable
design is publicly available.
