Your Pentium seems to be very slow. Here's what I get for the Float
version:

Sun SparcStation-5 (70MHz)                          0.53  sec
Sun Ultra-5 (333MHz)                                0.045 sec
Intel PentiumPro (150MHz)                           0.095 sec
