I am told that other manufacturers produced cards which have the same DIN41612 interconnect (see below). Does the following stir some old memories? Can anyone point me to information w.r.t. a "GM8101 Transputer Card" made by "Gemini Computer Systems Ltd.". The card has a T800 and up to 8Mbyte of RAM and dates from 1989. The card fits into a ISA slot in a PC. I would like to know how to connect a number of these cards together via their DIN41612 Indirect Cardframe Connector (64 contacts in 96 size shell) on the back plate of each card, see Figure 1: ***************************************************************************** *Figure 1 * * __ * * ____________________________________________/ | * * / | * * __/ +--------------------------------+ | * * / |o.oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..| | A * * | |................................| | B * * \__ |oooooooooooooooooooooooo.ooooooo| | C * * \ +--------------------------------+ | * * \____________________________________________ | * * \__| * * * * 0 1 2 3 . = no pin * * 12345678901234567890123456789012 o = a pin * * * ***************************************************************************** Originally there was one card in each PC (so I have the interconnect wiring for "I'm not connected to another transputer") but I hope to place at least four of them into one PC. The wiring for "I'm not connected ..." comprises two 1x10 connectors placed on row A: Connector 1 fits A23-A32 connecting A23-A30, A24-A29 and A26-A27 with the holes for A31 and A32 filled with plastic Link Adaptor to Link 0, root transputer ? Yellow ? A26-A27 to enable the link adaptor ? Connector 2 fils A2-A11 connecting A3-A9, A4-A10, A5-A11 and A6-A8 with the hole for A2 filled with plastic Reset ? Black ? With the connectors in place ISPY correctly itentifies the T800d. With either or both the connectors removed ISPY reports 'cannot boot root transputer' If they are the same as the Inmos ITEM rack, the connectors are in blocks of 5. For a link, IIRC, it goes GND.BLANK.IN.OUT.GND In and Out may be swapped. For Reset, it goes RESET.ANALYSE.ERROR.GND.BLANK I would buzz out the whole connector, looking for grounded pins. Then see if you can fit the patterns of 5 onto them. I think there was an unused pin beween blocks of 5. Fuzzy memories .... Cheers, Andy!
