As one of the ex-moss'ers who now works in what might be called the mainstream software/computer industry, I'd observe that hardly a week goes past where I _don't_ see some idea embodied in the transputer and occam used somewhere. A couple of recent visits to Intel's CPU development facilities were particularly enlightening. Microprocessors now are rectangular black boxes with integral heat management, mechanical fixings, and edge-connectors. It quite warmed the cockles of my heart to think of Paul Walker's suggestions along the same lines, what, ten years ago now ?
