Over the past six years this conference has become one of the premium forums for the growing technical community in India. We commit to build on this success and increase the influence of ADCOM. The conference will have sessions with contributed papers, invited talks, practical experience reports, tutorial, panels, and vendor exhibitions. CALL FOR PAPERS Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * Wireless and Personal Communications * High Speed Networks * Mobile Computing * Parallel, Distributed and Networked Computing * Advanced Computer Architecture * Dependable and Secure Computing * Real Time Computing * Multi-media Systems * High Performance Graphics, Visualization and Virtual Reality * Parallel and Distributed Databases and Data Warehousing * Web-based Computing * Applications of Advanced Computing in Scientific and Engineering Computations * Business Computing, Web and Governance Authors are requested to submit five copies of previously unpublished papers/experience reports to Program Chairs before May 30, 1999. The length is limited to 5000 words (20 double spaced pages). Authors will be notified of acceptance by July 30, 1999. Camera ready papers would be required by September 15, 1999. TUTORIALS Half day/full day tutorials are proposed to be held on the first day of the conference. Tutorial proposals on topics of interest to advanced computing and Communications are welcome. Please submit your proposals to the Tutorial Chairs by June 30, 1999. SPECIAL SESSIONS Proposals for organizing special sessions in some particular topics consisting of invite talks from eminent persons in the field are also welcome. Persons/industries interested in organizing such sessions are requested to contact the Program Chairs before June 30, 1999. EXHIBITION The conference provides opportunity to vendors of Computing and Communications Systems to display their products. In addition, a few sessions on vendor Presentations are planned. ABOUT ROORKEE Roorkee is about 200 Kms from Delhi and about 35 Kms from the Holy City of Haridwar. Roorkee is on the Delhi-Haridwar-Rishikesh-Dehradun national highway. Roorkee houses University of Roorkee, one of the oldest and premier engineering Universities in India. Roorkee is also a center for research and Defence Establishments. There are many tourist attractions near Roorkee. From Roorkee, you may visit the holy cities of Haridwar, Rishikesh, Kedarnath, Badrinath, and many scenic places in Gadhwal and Himalaya Regions. Hill stations, namely Dehradun and Mussoorie are close to Roorkee. The weather at Roorkee in the month of December is cold with temperature ranging from 5 to 15 degree celsius.
