PARALLEL COMPUTING '99
Delft, The Netherlands
17 - 20 Augustus 1999

C A L L   F O R   P A P E R S

GENERAL
-------
ParCo99 is the continuation of a series of international conferences on
parallel computing started in 1983. The collected proceedings give an
overview of the achievements in the Parallel Computing field over the last
two decades of the 20th century. On the threshold to the next century
ParCo99 aims to give a retrospective and a prospective view of parallel
computing.

DATE & VENUE
------------
17 - 20 August 1999, Delft, The Netherlands

PROGRAM
--------
The scientific program consists of invited papers, contributed extensive and
specialised papers. Extensive papers will be presented in parallel sessions
with 20 minutes available per presentation. Specialised papers will be
presented in interactive sessions through presentations and display
material. An industrial session and an exhibition of equipment are planned.
All papers will be refereed for acceptance for publication in the
proceedings.

CONTRIBUTIONS
-------------
Extended abstracts of papers in English are solicited. Abstracts should be
ca. 1000 words and include the most important references. The relevance and
originality of the contribution must be stated. For each contribution
proposal indicate:
* whether it is intended as an extensive or specialised paper; and
* in which section it should preferably be included.
Four copies of the abstract must be submitted to the conference office
before the due dates.

AIMS & SCOPE
------------
The aim of the conference is to give an overview of the state-of-the-art of
the development, application and future trends in parallel computing,
including recent developments in cluster and metacomputing. Preference will
be given to papers discussing real implementations and practical
experiences.

TOPIC AREAS
-----------
Section 1: Applications
The application of parallel computers to solve all types of business,
industrial, scientific and engineering problems. The emphasis should be on
the impact of the parallel processing paradigm.

Section 2: Algorithms
Numerical and non-numerical parallel algorithms, also addressing aspects of
scalability and adaptability.

Section 3: System Software & Hardware Architectures
Operating systems; compilers; techniques such as threading, scheduling, load
balancing, message passing, automatic parallelisation; hardware
architectures; communication systems; protocols; etc.
For each topic aspects relating to:

* software engineering methodologies
* programming paradigms
* development environments
* performance and benchmarking
* debugging
* visualisation
* etc.
may be discussed.

DEADLINES
---------
Abstracts:	    February 28, 1999
Full papers:    July 15, 1999

We encourage electronic submissions at the address listed below. A
notification of acceptance will be send to the authors at approximately
April 30, 1999.

SUBMISSION OF FULL PAPERS
-------------------------
Based on the abstracts authors will be notified about provisional acceptance
of papers by 30 April 1999.
Full papers must be submitted for final review and acceptance by 15 July
1999.

PROCEEDINGS
-----------
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings after the
conference.
