Position: On-site Applications Development Specialist
Where: National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) 
Camp Springs, MD ( outside Washington, DC )

Description:

The successful candidate will support the design, development, and
optimization of Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) codes on an IBM
RS/6000 SP system that is currently being installed at NCEP. This
position requires knowledge of the Message Passing Interface (MPI),
OpenMP, cache-based optimization techniques, and the Fortran90
programming language. Experience with NWP codes is desirable.  The
successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the
development of compute intensive applications using a message passing
paradigm on distributed memory systems. In addition, excellent oral
and written skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work in a
