Dear Colleague!

The deadline for papers of HPCN Europe'99 is drawing near!
The preparations for this event are gaining more and more speed. We have
a large number of state-of the-art workshops and already an impressive
number of reactions!

Don't miss this event!!

You are invited to submit papers for the three conference tracks (see

The seventh International Conference on High Performance Computing and
Networking Europe.

April 12 - 14, 1999, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

http://www.wins.uva.nl/events/HPCN99/

Deadline for paper submission: December 1, 1998 (!)

It is with much pleasure that we announce the seventh edition of the
highly successful High Performance Computing and Networking Europe
event.

Like previous years, HPCN Europe '99 will combine focussed workshops and
a scientific Conference, covering the field of HPCN from (industrial)
end-user applications to new scientific results in computational science
and computer science. With this call we invite you to submit a paper for
the Conference and to participate in the event.

The Conference
-------------------
The conference is structured around three main themes, (industrial) end
user applications, computational science, and computer science. We are
proud to have a number of renowned experts as keynote speaker and
invited speakers:

Ralph Gruber ( EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland)
Carl Kesselman (Caltech, Cal. USA)
Pieter Adriaans (Syllogic, The Netherlands)

Furthermore, from each workshop (see below) an invited speaker will give
a plenary lecture on the workshop theme.

Submission of Papers
---------------------------
The conference has three complementary themes

A. (Industrial) End-user Applications of HPCN
For instance, WEB applications, Medical applications, data mining,
automotive and aerospace, chemical, climate modeling, etc.

B. Computational Science
For instance new numerical and non-numerical techniques for
parallelization, metacomputing, load balancing, problem solving
environments, etc.

C. Computer Science research in HPCN
For instance tools runtime support, compiler technology, programming
environments, architecture simulations, etc.

Authors are invited to submit a paper containing new and original
results with respect to these themes. You may submit a full paper (6 to
10 pages A4) for either an oral presentation, or a short paper (2 to 3
pages A4) for a poster presentation. Your paper will be reviewed and,
after acceptance, appear in the conference proceedings that will be
published in the series Lecture Notes in Computer Science. The best
papers of the conference will be published in a special issue of Future
Generation Computer Systems (http://www.elsevier.nl/locate/future).

Your paper must be camera ready and formatted according to the rules of
LNCS (see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/Authors.html). Include a
separate first page which lists the name and mailing address of each
author, which clearly specifies the presenting author, and which
indicates the personal e-mail address of the corresponding author. A
postscript version of your paper must be mailed to
hpcn99submit@wins.uva.nl (please consult our web site for all details,
http://www.wins.uva.nl/events/HPCN99/).
