Final Announcement:
                       -------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd Cenju Workshop: High Performance Computing Research on NEC Platforms
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Organised by GMD - INRIA - NEC Europe

Location: GMD Schlo=DF Birlinghoven, Sankt Augustin, Germany

Dates: October 19th - 20th, 1998

-----------------------------------------------------

Collaborative research into high performance computing using the NEC
Cenju-3 has been underway in Europe for several years. In order to
push forward these collaborations, a new Cenju-4 system using
state-of-the-art processors and memory management has been installed
at GMD in Sankt Augustin. The workshop will report on scientific
studies performed on the Cenju-3 and more recently on the
Cenju-4. Looking ahead to the future, an introduction to the
expectations of the Earth Simulator project, with its multi-TeraFlops
platform, will be given.

In addition to the scientific presentations, the workshop will provide
participants with an opportunity to perform their own experiments on
the Cenju-4. The workshop will be a forum for discussing longer term
collaborations involving use of the Cenju-4 system.
