SC is one of the premier conferences in our field showcasing the
cutting edge in networking, supercomputing, data intensive
applications, and other emerging technologies that push the frontiers
of high performance computing and communication. The conference will
be held this year from November 7-13th, in Orlando, Fl. As part of the
conference, SC has created a program to give students a unique
opportunity to participate in the conference, while also gaining
practical experience.

SC98 Student Volunteer Program Description:

*Open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
*Students must provide their own transportation to the conference.
*Students volunteer a minimum of 20-25 hours to work during the
conference.
*Technical knowledge, familiarity with multiple computing platforms,
networking, a/v equipment a plus.

In payback for their 20-25 hours of service during the conference the
students receive:

*Complimentary SC98 registration. This includes admission to Monday's
opening gala, special SC98 events, and poster sessions.
*Conference proceedings on CD-ROM.
*Free hotel room during the course of their volunteer work at the
conference.
*Food during "daily business" hours at the SC98 conference. No other
meal
support is provided.

On-line registration for the conference is now available at

If you could please pass this information to students who might
be interested it would be appreciated.
