High Performance Computing Center North (HPC2N) is hosting the=20
fourth International Workshop on Applied Parallel Computing=20
(PARA98) in June 14=AD17, 1998 at Ume=E5 University, Ume=E5, Sweden.=
=20
The general theme for PARA98 is Large Scale Scientific and=20
Industrial Problems focusing on:=20

* High-performance computing applications in academia and industry,=
=20

* Tools, languages and environments for high-performance computing,=
=20

* Scientific visualization and virtual reality applications in=20
  academia and industry,=20

* Future directions in high-performance computing and networking.=
=20

The PARA98 meeting is aimed to be an international forum for idea and=
=20
competence exchange for specialists in parallel computing,=20
visualization, etc and scientists from industry and academia solving=
=20
large scale computational problems. Another important aim of the=20
PARA meetings is to strengthen the ties between HPC centers,=20
academia, and industry in the Nordic countries as well as worldwide.

The meeting starts with a one day tutorial followed by a three day=
=20
workshop. There will be around 20 invited one-hour lectures and=20
around 70 contributed 20-25 minutes presentations. The PARA98=20
Proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in their Lecture=
=20
Notes in Computer Science series.
