Organization: EUnet AG Date: 15 Jan 1998 17:51:51 GMT Message-ID: <69libn$ati$1@encore.ece.cmu.edu> Hello all, We are interested in the machine mentioned in the subject. HP tells us that we can choose between HP/UX (11.0) and SPP/UX. What are the main differences with respect to support of the underlying parallel hardware, support of parallel programs, grade of parallelism of the OS itself and last but not least the main differences with respect to the user interface (Shells, GUI, ...)? Are there much differences in the effort needed to administrate the OS'ses ? Does any HP/UX-program work under SPP/UX on a V-class machine ? Other issues important to know before choosing the OS ?
