Call For Papers

The 12th Annual International Symposium on High Performance Computing
Systems (HPCS'98) will be held at the Fantasyland Hotel at the world-famous
West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, from May 20th to May 22nd,
1998. The symposium covers all aspects of high performance computing, both
applied as well as theoretical. It includes technical paper sessions,
presentations by invited distinguished speakers, and vendor exhibits in an
atmosphere which promotes conversation and collaboration. Paper submissions
are expected to be original, exceptional work and will be fully refereed.
Topics represented at this conference will include, but are not limited to: 

       High performance architecture
       Parallel/distributed/vector algorithms
       Industrial and scientific applications
       Heterogeneous computing environments
       Scalable systems
       HPC using the World Wide Web
       Parallel programming environments
       Tools
       Visualization
       Parallel languages
       Compiler technology
       Parallel I/O
       Operating systems
       High-speed networking
       Performance modeling and evaluation

Key dates: 
Deadline for paper submissions: December 15, 1997. 
Notification of acceptances: February 15, 1998. 
Final camera-ready paper: March 15, 1998. 

All submitted papers should be written in English, double spaced, 11 point
font, and no longer than 20 pages including an abstract, text, figures,
tables, and references. The cover page should include: 1) title of the
paper, 2) author(s) and their affiliation(s), 3) abstract of the paper
(maximum 250 words), 4) a list of up to eight keywords, and 5) the contact
person's name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, and fax
number. Mail a postscript file to hpcs98@cs.ualberta.ca, or send five
copies to
