We are pleased to announce the first release of our parallel
programming environment, SCore Cluster System Software, for
workstation and PC clusters.

As the first step of our software distribution, we are distributing the
PM communications library for the Myricom Myrinet network.  PM
achieves a round trip message latency of 14 usec for 8 byte messages
and 116 MBytes/second bandwidth for 8 Kbyte messages on our PC cluster.

Our future release schedule, not yet dated, includes:
	- MPI communication library on PM,
	- C++ multiple-thread-template library (MTTL) supporting 
	  local/remote thread invocation and global operations,
	- SCore-D operating sytem supporting gang scheduler,
	- UDP communications library for ethernet connected clusters, and
	- parallel make command
