The first Euro-Par conference was held at the end of August 1995 in Stockholm, the second was in Lyon in August 1996, the third will be in Passau in August 1997, the fourth will be in Southampton, UK in 1998. Euro-Par is an annual conference merging and replacing three major conference series that evolved with the development of Parallel and Distributed Computing, PARLE, CONPAR and VAPP. Euro-Par will therefore provide the major European venue for the presentation of research results in this area. Institutions wishing to make such a bid should be able to provide the usual facilities to run a conference for between 200 and 400 delegates. Bids are open to all European countries, including those countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
