Welcome to PADE (pronounced pah-DAY) Version 1.4! The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Parallel Applications Development Environment, PADE for short, is a flexible, customizable environment for developing parallel applications that use the Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) message-passing library. It provides an integrated framework for all phases of development of a parallel application: editing, compilation, execution, debugging, and performance monitoring. PADE consists of an intuitive graphical user interface, a suite of PVM utilities, and extensive documentation in PostScript, ASCII, and HTML formats. The latest version is Version 1.4.0 and is in the file nist_pade.1.4.0.tar.gz. This is a "tar" file that has been compressed with the GNU gzip program. It is approximately 350 Kbytes, and uncompresses to approximately 4.8 Mbytes. Be sure to transfer this file in "binary" mode. Older versions of PADE are in the subdirectory "old_versions". Version 1.4.0 and later require Tcl/Tk 8.0. If you have an older version of Tcl/Tk, then you should either update your version of Tcl/Tk or get Version 1.2.0 of PADE from the old_versions subdirectory. Enjoy!
