This product supports four external transputer networks, providing each with an Iserver interface to Ethernet and connectivity to a host Iserver running on a processor elsewhere on the Ethernet. Performance claims in the range 200-300 kbytes per second were made for raw TCP transfers between a typical Unix workstation and transputers networked to it using the B300. This paper outlines the techniques which the author has used recently to enhance the performance of his own pipelined TCP/IP implementation for Ethernet to achieve throughputs of up to 925 kbytes per second on substantially similar hardware. Many of these techniques are equally appropriate to any large communicating process application." }
